Resumo
A Utopia Possível descreve o processo de desenvolvimento regional sustentável das trinta missões jesuítico-guaranis instaladas em cerca de 500.000 km2 nas terras das bacias dos rios Paraguai, Paraná e Uruguai durante mais de cento e cinquenta anos (séculos XVII e XVIII) apesar de todas as vicissitudes, demonstrando propósitos de geopolítica colonial.

Abstract
The Possible Utopia describes the successful process of regional sustained development of the thirty jesuit-guarani missions (circa 500.000 square kilometers) in the Paraguai, Paraná and Uruguai basins during more than hundred and fifty years (from the 17th to the 18th century) in spite of all difficulties, proving the aims of the colonial geo-policy.
